BAKLAVA BOYS

Branding, packaging.


One of my favourite treats to eat is Baklava, a Turkish desert. I wanted to create a brand offering this desert to a younger audience making the desert modernised. The brand needed to be iconic and acknowledge their roots while being bold.
I wanted the brand to feel alternative to appeal to the modern target audience.
While designing the packaging and branding assets I wanted to keep the heritage of the desert by using a Turkish pattern. 
Imagery for the brand needed to keep the medieval theme, to do this I decided on using decorative frames and reusing brand assets from the packaging.
I wanted to come up with a custom typeface to accompany the medieval theme. I chose to design a typeface for capitalised letters to make them more decorative which can be seen on medieval books and literature.
